I.W. Washington is the founder of UthenticWorks Capital. A former CEO and long-time leader in mission-driven sectors, he brings more than two decades of executive experience leading organizations through growth, transition and strategy.

He has overseen multimillion-dollar operations, built high-performing teams, and guided national nonprofits at the intersection of leadership, innovation and social impact. His work has consistently focused on aligning people, purpose and performance.

He founded UthenticWorks to pursue values-based entrepreneurship. He believes small businesses thrive when they’re led with conviction, not ego — and when legacy is treated as a strength, not a burden. His focus is on preserving what works, investing in long-term growth and honoring the values that matter most to owners and their teams.

Outside of business, he’s known for championing leadership development, building inclusive cultures, and mentoring other executives. He approaches acquisitions as partnerships, prioritizing cultural fit and continuity alongside financial performance. He lives in Washington, DC with his partner and believes deeply in integrity, calm leadership, and the power of the long game.
